Why landing page matters to a first-time founder
Sending traffic to a general homepage spreads attention across many links, so you cannot tell which message or offer made people act. A focused landing page lets you test one promise with real visitors before you build much. Without one, ads and launch posts can burn money while producing numbers you cannot interpret, and you may conclude there is no demand when the page was simply unclear.
Examples of landing page
A page for freelance designers shows one chase email, the €20 price, and a button to start. There is no blog, no team story, and no second product. Of a hundred visits, six start. That six is the conversion you can try to move. A page with four buttons teaches you nothing about which ask worked.
Common misunderstanding
People judge it by how it looks, or they send traffic before the ask is clear. A handsome page with a vague button still fails. The page is a test of the offer as much as of the layout. An A/B test belongs here only after the offer itself is something a customer can accept or refuse.
When to use it
Build one this month if you want to test demand, collect sign-ups for a waitlist or run paid ads to a single offer. Write the headline, the price or next step and the one button before worrying about design. Wait if you cannot yet say what the button does or who the page is for, because traffic will not answer that question for you.
